Next time you are in the library, check out the display of live caterpillars in the Children's Department.  We currently have Monarch caterpillars and Black Swallowtail caterpillars munching away on their favorite plants at the Main Library and Indian Creek Branch.  Over the next period of weeks the caterpillars will transform into chrysalises and eventually emerge as butterflies.  It's always fascinating to see this little miracle of nature up close and personal.  So when you next come to the library to find a good book, check out a movie, or use a computer, take a minute to stop by our display and check out the status of our caterpillars.

A special thank you goes out to Jackie Goetz from KC Master Gardeners and Monarch Watch for providing these displays to the libraries.
