Winter/Spring Storytimes

The Olathe Public LIbrary offers storytimes for a variety of age groups throughout the week at both libraries.  We encourage you to determine which storytime session is most appropriate for your child and family.  No registration is required, but space may be limited.  For some storytimes, tickets will be handed out 15 minutes before the program begins.  Click the links below for more information.

Come to Stagecoach Park for a free 30 minute preschool stortyime.  The Olathe Public Library and the Olathe Community Center present a morning of stories, songs, and play.  In case of bad weather, the storytime will be held inside the community center (1205 E. Kansas City Road).  No registration required for the storytime.  For a small fee you can stay for a special Me & Mini Me Swim.  For more informaton please call the Olathe Community Center at (913) 971-8563.

Drop by the Indian Creek Library every Monday for a mission in fun!  Learn the art of paper folding, create a secret code, complete a scavenger hunt, participate in a life-size board game; the possibilities are sure to keep you guessing.  This program is for K - 5th grade, but parents and siblings are welcome.  Kindergarten and younger must be accompanied by an adult.  No registration.  Come and go as you please.

FAMILY CHESS NIGHT - For all ages

Young readers of all ages may drop by and read to a cuddly canine  between 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. at the Indian Creek Library.  Upon arrival, check in at Children's Services for a reading time.  Reading sessions will be limited and available on a first come, first served basis.  Trained therapy dogs provided by Pets for LIfe, Inc.
